. | . | Diarmuid Ua Duibhne or Diarmid O'Dyna (also known as Diarmuid of the Love Spot), the son of Donn, foster son of Aengus Óg, and first warrior of the knights of Fianna. According to the legends Diarmuid was a skilled warrior and a well-liked and valued member of the Fianna, that he single-handedly killed 3,400 warriors in a battle and saved Fionn and the Fianna. He's weapons are Gae Buidhe, a shorter yellow spear that makes any wounds caused by it unhealable, and a long red Gae Dearg, a spear that pierces through any kind of shield, magic or not. Story: Diarmuid's father, Donn, was a warrior of the Fianna. At a dinner party, Donn, encounter and recognize Aengus' steward, who had lain with Donn wife, who give birth to his son. Jealous of that fact, he killed the steward's son when no one was looking. Aengus resurrected the steward's son in the form of a boar, but the steward required Fionn to find out the truth and, upon learning the truth, put a curse upon Diarmuid: He was to be killed by the boar, the steward's transformed son…. His half-brother. While hunting one night he met a woman who was the personification of youth. After sleeping with him she put a magical love spot on his forehead that caused any woman who looked at it to fall in love with him. That lead to the whole story with Grainne, the future bride of Fionn mac Cumhaill. Upon realising that the man he was marrying was old enough to be her grandfather, she decided to run away from Fionn. And falling in love with his at her wedding party she approached Diarmuid who objected to her advances because Fionn was a friend and his leader. Grainne imposed a geis (tabu) on Diarmuid that he must follow her. His friends were saddened, knowing that Diarmuid would die if he came between Fionn and his desired wife. Diarmuid's friends Oisín, Oscar, Caílte and Diorruing were troubled by Fionn's behaviour and determined to secretly help Diarmuid whenever they could. But that didn’t prevent many years and much blood that was shed, Until Fionn finally pardon Diarmuid and Grainne and decided to recognize their marriage, granted Diarmuid a proper title and land, and welcomed them back as subjects. Sometime later while hunting with Fionn, Diarmuid was fatally injured by a Demon Boar the reincarnation of his half-brother. While he could be saved, since water drunk from Fionn's hands had the power of healing, Fionn who only needed to walk a few steps to the nearby spring, but with jealousy and hatred towards Diarmuid on his mind spilled the water twice. Threatened by his son Oisín and grandson Oscar he fetched water a third time, but this time he was too late: Diarmuid had bleed to death. Gifts: While on the land he protects, The Sept of Croí Órga ground, the weapons of every member and ally blessed by Diarmuid gain Armour Piercing and Unbreakable. While on ground of the Caern of Croí Órga, the same weapons cause damage that can not be healed. Ban: Is it said that because of Diarmuid Love Spot, women can’t resist to him.
