Due to some Renown concerns we are breaking down a bit of rules for renown.
This game is meant to be fun and more enjoyment based not racing to some goal but traveling a journey together. Renown is a mark where good deeds earn respect in the eyes of the spirits, and bad deeds notoriety. Gaining renown for doing the same deed over and over again doesn’t mean respect is given. Now there are exceptions to this but if all you ever do is make the same Talen over and over… you aren’t dealing with spirits you are just an assembly line. Also remaking Talens when not needed is like wrongly imprisoning spirits and BAD. If you have dealt with a spirit before having the right chiminage ready… is expected and not renown worthy. If you learn a rite it is wise, but not using that rite when needed is unwise. Think of these things when you send in the log and what renown you think is what you earned.
Also do not forget to apply the negative renown as well; we see a lot of positive but very, very little negative renown. Let's be fair here, and not make the ST look as the bad guys and do it for you.
We give plenty opportunities and plenty ways to gain renown. Do not abuse that fact.
Below is few clearer explanations about few claims that was proven to need further explanations for people to understand it, and close the loopholes of the list.
If needed, it will be more added in the future.
TALENS
Creating a Talen is an everyday and easy task for a Theurge. That is why it has it's own renown count.
Creating a talen (W+1) That's it. In this is already considered that you find the spirit and deal with it accordingly. You HAD to or else you would fail. The summoning, dealing and offering the price to the spirit is NOT renown worthy in this case, it is already considered from before.
*Note: You need to understand that spirits don't actually like to be in Talens. That's why they are easy to make and have only one time use. If a theurge make Talens just for the renown, and keep them stored in the closet.... I'm sorry but you have a prison full of spirits down there. And... they do not like it.
RITES
As a ST we already give the plot-wise renown and count any Rite that may happen during that time. Now, if someone actually ask for one ICtly then please state the name of the character you performed the Rite for. Log may be requested as well.
If you are one of the many that help Atka, Oscar, Dagwood and whoever in the Sept and perform regular Rites that do not effect any character or events, then your Rites and actions are considered as duty:
Helping a Caern Elder in their caern duties montly (H+1)
Helping guard a caern montly (H+1)
And that is the renown worthy for that.
*Note: Claiming: Purifying a wyrm-tainted object. person or place (H+2) when you are performing regular Cleansing Rites in the Sept, helping the Keeper of the Land, Warders or whoever in the downtime.. is simply abuse of the renown. You do not see the Ahrouns claiming Helping to prevent a caern from being overrun by the wyrm (G+3 H+4) every day when they patrol the borders now, do you?
TEACHING
Here's the trick.. you want to claim the renown for teaching someone things? Spirtis? Art? Umbral matters? Fighting?
This is when you actually need to prove that you are doing it. Not only we need a DT from you the teacher, we need the matching DT from the pupil as well.
Logs of at least one scene where you In Charactly play the teaching must be send to ST email (storytellerwanderlust@gmail.com) before you claim and submit the renown on your chart. As you can claim it per month, one scene per month is required as well, or it's not considered learning/teaching.
RELENTIONSHIP WITH KINFOLK
In order to claim Maintaining Good Relationships with nearby kinfolks (W+2/Month) you must play friendly around at least 2 or 3 kinfolks. You need to state their names next t it, and if asked, you need to have the logs and prove that you actually played ICtly more then two times near a kinfolk and actually interact with him/her. Business not included.
*Note: Your mate is not to be counted in this claim of renown.
