A clearing opens up and a pair of RVs (without the enthusiastic old people) seem to be unnearthed from the trees and the darkness that were causing everything around them to blend. It would definitely make Drake wonder, how the hell did they drive these here?! There's a outdoor sort of dinner table built outside, and the remainents of a fire on a pit by it. Here and there you can see a piece of cluttery, a pot, a cup, a half-full ashtray... Is obvious that the camp has been alive until recently. Mia is sitting upright and searching frantically as her team's camp emerge before her eyes. Her breath picks up with the clear expectation she's been building up but, it all seems dark... Quiet... Just as they left it.

Drake drove the car to the most open area he could find of that clearing before stopping the engine. The Walker get out of the car closing the door behind him without a word spoken to Mia. Slowly, he looked around, more focused in the darkness between the trees around them, like just waiting for feral eyes to be there.

Mia leaves the Mustang as soon as it stops, she almost forgets to remove her seatbelts.
For a moment the cold athmosphere shocks her in contrast to the warmth of the car, her breath is a distinguible fog as she goes around the Mustang joining Drake on the other side. Standing by Drake, she measures the camp, wavering till she gather the courage... Like you do above a pool of ice-cold water before you head in.... ''In and out.'' - She mutters to herself like a little mantra. And so she goes towards one of the threatening, quiet doors awaiting for her...
Drake would see the darkness around starting to change when, dim lights draw a stripe on the sky far to the east. All clouds from earlier are dissipating and spreading, so stars shone through the holes but no moon he can see. Early birds are chirping, the very first sign of life on that estrange and old forest... No feral eyes reveal themselves to him from the dusk, but Drake does have a eerie feeling, like they are being watched.

Drake looked to the sky with a small relief, today the daylight can't come soon enough. Hearing of some life in this woods were also calming, but the chills on his spine didn't let him relax. "Maybe let's stay close." He said following Mia to where she was heading, still not trusting the quietness of this place. It always seems weird how in one place there is a massacre happening, while in other is peaceful, the bless of obliviousness. Sometimes he was jealous of that.
He will stay close to Mia, but let her get in the RV on her own, while he checked the things around. Half looking for any signs that someone else was recently here or still is.. and half curious of those who the camp belonged to.

- "Yes." Mia would have nodded to Drake, moving to the little staircase leading into one of the RVs. She waves him over. - Come! "
She does not stop to see if anything was out of place around camp, or acted careful that way though, like it didn't even cross her head that someone else other than her friends could have been there. She just takes a key from one of her pockets and opens that RV's door, slipping inside and leaving the door half open for Drake if he'd want to come in too.
The place looks like a avarage young people's camping site. It's a bit messy but on a way that it looks "at use", not disgusting - as there are half drunken or empty beer/soda bottles, snacks packages, cigarette bids, that sort of stuff everywhere. There is also different sorts of recording/audio paraphernalia piled here and there by the RVs. Wouldn't be the expensive stuff though, like cameras or laptops. But it definitely would seem that Mia was serious about the documentary thing. There's a recurrent logo Drake sees at the equipment, even sticked to the sides of each RV... Green on white, 'FFA entertainment'. (if you want to throw a mental for knowledge check on this logo, a tie would do).
A thing he'd notice now that there are some little light slowly lighting up the gloom forest, are crows. But they didn't seem to scatter with their arrival or movement (normally crows would be picking at the trash left behind right?), they are just, here with the two of them.

"Yeah, yeah.." Drake said silently at Mia's invitation, but his attention was not exactly on her... when did he really follow his own smart advises? He will walk around, pick up a random notebook, flipping his pages too fast to actually read a thing, but will stop at the logo, trying to remember where he had seen it before. The Walker's stare will hang on the crows as well for a longer moment... He had a bad feeling about them. And he hopes he is wrong about the reason why everything happen tonight to the poor village and the crew of this girl.
He looked into the woods again, considering if he should just run in there and howl for attention. Part of him wanted to, to satisfy his curiosity but.. another part of him was telling him that the girl in that RV is simply lucky to be alive. And her chances would drop significantly if he just let her alone in this cursed forest. He took a deep breath instead and headed to the RV she disappeared in.
------ Throw: Random Mental trait for the logo. pqH6TTeh

zfA9i9uC After digging a little deeper on his mind Drake will remember, he's seen this logo not long ago when he was researching over adjacent companies to one commonly known juggernaut.... Pentex. But Drake would have seen a lot more that'd stand out that day, and he wouldn't remember exactly how this small German media firm relates to the monster coorporation, or how this could be relevant here.
When Drake looks again at the woods, he'll see a black wolf. It's shape outlined against the morning twilight. It simply stands there among the trees , and stares. Almost like a ghost.
- ''What are you doing, Warden of Men? - A omnious voice speaks directly inside of Drake's head... - ''What is you are planning, here?''

As the voice ringed inside his brain, Drake was not much surprised. He stared back at the wolf, not taking any stance against it. He will tho, mostly out of instinct reach to close the door of the RV behind Mia before making 2 steps away from the vehicle and towards the wolf. He puts his hands into his jean's pockets, trying to minimize the threatening of the situation before responding through the link he created.
Via link> "I assume this is a two way link. I'm simply here to solve the mystery, why I found a human child mauled to death not too long ago."

The wolf remains standing still, blending eerily to she shadows and the things composing the forest. It's yellow eyes on Drake.
- ''Curious. It would seem you are helping this woman instead.''
So the wolf stares at the RV where Mia now searches, obviously to make a point. The windows reflecting the violets lights borning on east.
- ''You know she cannot be.''

Drake tilted his head slightly. He was still alert, the rage still under his skin but he is respecting the non-violent nature of this conversation... for now. The fact that this conversation was happening tho, made him more indignant about this whole rabbit hole he found himself in.
"L>Maybe I do both. " He admitted. He will not lie, he doesn't have a reason to. "She can not be what? Do you want to tell me the reason why I should not stand between you and her throat? Or we will wait until our patience runs thin and we do something we both will regret?"

- "She cannot live." The Wolf continues over the mind link, it's 'voice' always composed as it speaks the language that is a gift from the Mother. It's spectral like shape seems dignified, proud... As if it carried pure breed. "... You don't need to stand between us. You've found her, you took her. She is your responsability."
Crows gather around, at the tree brenches or at the RVs tops, but they wouldn't make a sound. They simply stand witness to the meeting of the two stranged Garou.
-"... But if you want a reason. Ask yourself why are you here. It is quite intriguing. You are not a local... So I am assuming she asked you to come."

Drake looked at the RV Mia disappeared into then at the crows around. He knew they are not normal birds. But.. why so much defense? If this place was a trap, then the wolf should already make a move. Him not doing so shows some weird... insecurity.
"I see assuming is your deadly sin then." He took his hands out of the pockets, just to cross them over his chest. "Blind luck was what brought me here. And my attention is not on the woman in the RV.. I want to know why you would target children."

- "Both our deadly sins, than. Since you're assuming I am killing children. "
The wolf paces back into the shadows casted by the trees that are bright with the cold sun light pouring over. Crows flap their wings and take flight, circling the tree tops and the clouds spreading apart.
- "You will be my guest, and if you care to accept my invitation, I will tell you all you want to know."
There's a fumbling sort of noise comming from the RV where Mia is, it's windows shining now, like mirrors bright with twilight.
- "But you must ensure the veil is secure, Warden of Men. Or there will be consequences to all of us."

"If I assumed that fully, this conversation would be less polite." Drake said, but unconsciously a small smirk appeared on his lips acknowledging the fact the wolf was not a fool. "I will accept your invitation, as for the woman.. You know what Tribe I am part of, so you should know that the Veil is something we do not take lightly." Even if this land was not a big part of the Walkers turf, the laws were clear indeed. Although in a case like this, usually the heads that are rolling are the ones that caused the veil to be violated, and not of the innocent.
"If her death will be a necessity, I will deliver it." He said in a firm tone. In the end, he did mean it and the wolf can easily feel it through the link.

- ''I trust you will.'' Drake can hear it, but the wolf can no longer be seen among the shades.- ''...When you are ready, ask the crows for the direction.''
The RV door fully opens, and Mia steps outside with a large camper backpack on her shoulders. She has changed into warm and clean clothes, now wearing some sort of nordic hiker beanie, and without all blood and dust, her cheeks are pale. She glances into the ashen sunlight and inhales deeply, taking a moment to appreciate that the last night is now left behind... Her skin shines ghostly when she turns to Drake with a small smile drawn on red lips.
- ''Anything to report, soldier?'' She paces over to join him. ''...Or whatever people talk like on the army.''

"No, ma'am." Drake said still looking into the woods the wolf disappeared before finally turning to look at Mia. "You got everything?"
He was still not sure what to do with her. Under normal circumstances she would simply be let go after messing with her perception, people would think she is crazy and that is that. But she seemed to have gather way too many details, she is too conscious about what is happening around her. The fact she is making a documentary.. and that her sponsor seems to be related to Pentex was making this complicated. Is this all a coincidence? When was the last time something really was... If he let her go right now, the possibilities of bringing more light into those god forsaken woods were too high to take that risk.
Drake was also out of his waters in this land. No back-up to gain control, blackmail or bargain to keep her mouth shut. He really had only two choices, and those are part luck.. and part of what path Mia will chose.
"So.. what next?"

Mia stared towards the directions the wolf have been, but perhaps because that's where Drake have been looking. She blinks and turns back to the Glass Walker, before she gazes away to consider his question.
"... Let's see." She breathes out, taking a minute to think it over. The question proofed more difficult than it would seem, but Mia would focus on each step before even considering to aknowledging 'the big picture' and lose her mind. "... Hotel. Shower. Meal. Rest. On that specific order."
She spells it all out as if it was a countdown. No suggestion on her voice but her eyes got meaning behind them as they silently plead for the things she quoted.

Drake looked at her like he expected something more from her, he had a final battle with himself before he let a long sigh. He would be also happy for that order of things Mia just recited, he had a long day.. and night... and it is not freaking over yet, but hitting a town would mean more traces left behind.
"What's this FFA entertainment that sponsors you? And what you have to do with it?" He asked seemingly out of blue. He was done beating around the bush and being careful around the woman.

Mia blinked at Drake's seemingly out of nowhere question. Her hand comes to hold the straps of her backpack and for a moment she wonders if she missed something. She didn't seem to know how this is relevant now, here, but she goes along with it:
"They are a company from Netherlands that finances projects from my university, like ours, in Europe... I don't know a whole lot about them." She wanted to ask things but catches the sudden vibe in the air, so she shuts up and... See what happens?

"Of course you don't.." Drake smirks and shakes his head. He runs his hand over his face, pinches the bridge of his nose before his hand slides off again and his eyes look back at Mia. "Ok.. Alright." He backs off a little bit to lean against the front of the Mustang, letting a heavy sigh. "You may want to put that bag down."
He will wait a moment for her to do so, or not.. it is up to her. But then he will start.
"So, before we see what the next step is.. we need to talk." He said in a serious tone, but it seems that he is awkward about it, like not finding the words. Not really letting her ask or say anything before he continued. "You know that quote from movies and such.. If I tell you my secret, i will have to kill you? Well.... Unfortunetelly, you seem to found one of those secrets. I'm not sure yet, if it was a lucky thing you stumble upon me, or the opposite... But I can tell you that if I was not here when you got into that RV.. " He pointed towards it. "You would not get out alive."
He paused to read her reaction but he added, this time the tone had a hint of threat in it, his emerald eyes darker while looking straight into hers. "And I want you to know this, because I am risking a lot here as well. And I really need to know if it is worth it. Because I swear to Gaia, if this is all a game, this will not end up well."

Mia watched Drake unblinking, she's still aware of that change in tone. There was a intuitive hint bugging her - something right now, not relating to the mind blurring night she have witnessed, but something here... Right now... Is dangerous.
Drake is dangerous. The woods are dangerous. And there's nothing she can do about it.
She have put her bag down as he requested, and it partially lies into the wet ground by her side. She holds at the stripe as it is probably the only thing she could possibly use to defend herself. Pathetic, right? She was absolutely helpless. One wrong move and she felt like she'd be torn to shreds... So Mia remains completely still except for whatever she can't keep from shaking.
Her eyes and lips are dry from listening the garou so severely... He was literally telling her she'd die, except if... So and so. Right? It sure was important. Mia takes her time, but finally she gives Drake a reserved nod..
"... I don't want to die." Her words come out honest, but terrified. There was no point on hiding any of it anyway.... ".... Tell me what I have to do."

Drake looked at her for a longer moment of silence, before he... smiled? It seemed like her reaction was something he liked.. In fact that was the case, as her terror seemed genuine which make the chances of her lying way smaller then he had given her before.
"Alright. Good." This time his voice was more warm, like he flipped a switch changing it from threatening to friendly, either he is a great actor or some kind of psycho. "I just want you to gather for me all the stuff you have of this documentary of yours. Any materials, info, leads, post-it notes, anything ok? Can you do that for me?" He looked at her for a moment. "And then I will get you to that hotel you wished for. I think you will be safer there while I see what exactly happen in those woods and why. Clear your slate as much as I can with the others." He given her a briefing while walking slightly off to the side of the car and taking his phone out, starting checking something up at it.

- ''Yes. I can do that for you.'' Mia answers almost as if she's spelling out something she's reading. She didn't smile back to Drake, letting him move away with his phone and standing still in her spot like a tree. She sighs, water vapor spreading in the haze from her nostrils. Mia turns and stares towards the raising, pale sunlight which is the one dim sort of warmth. - ''... But most of it was back at the village. My collegues stayed because of it.''
The shuffle of wings and grim cawing scatter, ghostly echoing among a web of dry branches and dead leaves surrounding this camp.

"That's fine.. I will deal with th-" He stopped mid word to look towards the sound of the crows in the dense canopy of the woods. He narrowed his eyes a bit like expecting something to jump off those trees. If you have a fucking issue with any of this, then come and deal with it yourself. He thought with impatience. It didn't matter if the mental link was long gone or maybe not.
Finally he exhaled and shrugged it off going back to his phone that after a moment he pick up to his ear. Mia can hear him talking to someone, and he was rather shy towards that person. She can catch some phrases like I'm so sorry for the time, How's the little ones and him politely asking if it would be alright if he took two days longer. After a grateful thanking whoever was he talking to, Drake finally put away the phone and acknowledge Mia once again.
"Sorry about that. You need any help?" He walked back towards her, tilting slightly his head slightly while scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

Mia leaned a little bit in the direction Drake excuses himself trying to overhear something from his phone call. Maybe he was calling some sort of cavalry, or she really didn't know. But what she does hears makes her raise a brow curiously.
- "... Of all things about you, what surprises me the most is that you're a dad." She answers randomly as she's approached again, glancing at the Glass Walker now somewhat free of the crawling fear that was explicit moments ago. It was true - somehow, that brought her comfort, as if painting some humanity on that guy who now, literally had her life on his hands.
She suddenly extends her arm to offer him the backpack, that now hangs up from her hand by the stripe. The bottom is smeared with mud and dry leaves.
- "Here. What I had left of our research is here. We can burn these vans up if you want. Make sure we don't leave... Any sensible material behind."
